Zipaworld and ASYAD Partner to Transform India-GCC Logistics

Zipaworld, the logistics e-Mall of India, has taken a significant leap into the global market by venturing into the Middle East and GCC markets. It has joined hands with the ASYAD Group of Oman, a centralized, integrated logistics company operating across Oman and the GCC.

After the launch of the company’s digital Ocean Freight Module and amid brisk demand for domestic logistics, this marks a significant step forward into the global logistics market.

Taking the association forward, Zipaworld and ASYAD have stepped forward with ASYAD Express for a pilot project covering express, courier, and door-to-door shipments across trade lanes between India and the GCC. ASYAD Express provides fast and efficient door-to-door delivery services. It leverages a strong local network through its six distribution center's, strategically located across Oman, to ensure reliable, timely delivery to every corner of Oman within 48 hours. It also offers value-added optional services such as cash on delivery (COD) and returns, as well as a wide range of packaging options. ASYAD Express, a division of Oman Post, has a comprehensive global network and offers express shipments to more than 200 locations worldwide.

Acting President of Oman Post and ASYAD Express, Nasser Al Sharji, stated:

“We are leading the express mail section, continuously working to enhance our services to satisfy the demands of our ever-growing client base. As e-commerce regains momentum, our partnership with Zipaworld represents one of several partnerships that are helping us to expand into new markets beyond Oman and offer greater choice, ease, and value.”

Dr. Ambrish Kumar, Founder of Zipaworld, highlights that the trade lane between India and Oman, as well as other GCC nations, will expand through the strategic partnership between Zipaworld and ASYAD Express, connecting to markets beyond. “ASYAD Express has gained recognition in the Indian subcontinent and other parts of the world through the upgradation of technology and the digitization of their distribution system. More collaborations with ASYAD Group will open additional cost-effective gateways into the Gulf, Middle East, and African ports.”

ASYAD is Oman’s integrated logistics company. It is the centerpiece of Oman’s aspiration to reclaim the country’s 2,000-year-old regional role in trade and develop it as one of the world’s top 10 logistics hubs by 2040.

Established in 2016 to maximize the economic returns and impact of Oman government logistics investments, ASYAD Group brings together solutions and businesses under a single entity, enhancing performance, creating value, and delivering economies of scale. The Group includes three deep-sea ports and two free zones, supported by Oman’s five airports, a new rail network, and a modern road network.

ASYAD Ports & Terminals comprises the Port of Sohar, the Port of Salalah, the Port of Duqm, Khazaen Economic City, and ASYAD Shipping & Drydock. The logistics wing of ASYAD Group includes ASYAD Express (door-to-door express delivery service), Oman Post, and Container Line Services. In addition, ASYAD Group promotes public services through Maritime Colleges, SINYAR Oman (multimodal transport, buses, and ferries), and MWASALAT (a government-owned public transport company in Oman).

As ASYAD Group continues to advance with modern technology to build digital systems and address logistics challenges, its association with Zipaworld is a significant step forward. This will enhance smooth trade between India and Oman, as well as between India and other GCC countries.

The shared courier service from India to GCC countries will be more cost-effective and transparent than the current market. Zipaworld can be accessed by anyone in India, at their convenience, to schedule express consignments to the Middle East.

With Oman ports strategically located for connections to the GCC, Africa, and Europe, this provides strong alternatives to the UAE, which is one of the leading gateways to African trade routes.
